Sleep

I don't really have time to post as I should be taking advantage of daycare time to clean the house, but I want to get this down. I tend to feel like the world is ending when I am frustrated, and then forget I ever had a problem when things are going well.
More and more I had been noticing that Oscar was being cranky and whiny, and I realized somehow that he just isn't getting enough restorative nap sleep. He was starting to wake up cranky from carrier naps, which meant that it was like he didn't have a nap at all except for the part where I was immobilized for a couple hours of my day. I wasn't getting a break with a happy baby afterward. So something had to give.
Scott got me the kindle version of the No Cry Nap Solution, and already I am figuring out Oscar's ideal schedule. Yesterday I noted when he went down (nursed to sleep): 9 AM-10 AM (but he woke prematurely, thanks to the freight train that is my pump); noon to 1:30ish, and 4-5:30ish. Today he's at daycare and Patty is texting me when he goes down and wakes up (so far, 9-10:45 and he went down at noon. So it looks like this is a pattern, hooray.
Currently he will happily go to sleep in the swing at daycare, or nursing or in the carrier at home. I need to change this because he's almost at the weight limit of the swing at daycare, and while I don't mind nursing him to sleep, it would be nice to be able to just put him down and have him go to sleep by himself at home too. So my mission for this week is to progress toward that goal. Patty said that he went to sleep in the crib at daycare for his 9 AM nap today, following only a little bit of crying, so that's great. She was about to put him in the swing when she noticed he was dozing off, that's how quick it was. He has daycare again tomorrow, and then Thurs-Mon I'm going to try to solidify a consistent schedule of pack'n'play naps for his morning two. I want to keep the late afternoon nap as a nursing nap because that's the time of day I often want a nap myself.
