(no subject)
Grimmy's asleep right now and I'm finally eating my lunch, which has gotten cold.
I've been meaning to update. . . sooo, he's not walking yet, but he can get around. He can stand up using pretty much whatever is available. . . my leg, a wall, the toilet, the dog. . . and he can hold on with only one hand without falling.
He doesn't seem interested in copying signs yet, so I've slacked off of making the ones for anything but dog, potty, and milk. Occasionally I'll do "more" and "all done" when he's eating in his chair.
He's really working on his pincer grasp. I see it a little bit when he's picking up food pieces, but mostly it has developed in his excitement about the light switches. He is getting good at flicking the switch down with one finger deliberately, as opposed to swatting with his whole hand and hoping it hits the switch. He has gotten the switch to go up a few times by backwards-swatting, but he has yet to refine the motion.
I've been teaching him to turn himself around when he wants to get down off of the couch or bed, so he goes feet first. He's not initiating the motion yet, but he seems to remember what I'm getting at when I start to turn him, and then he starts to do it himself.
We've been watching MJ videos during downtime; happy to report Grimmy approves :). (For those who are new friends, you may have missed my epiphany about this man. I had a sheltered life, what can I say?) But once I started watching videos. OH GOD. HOW DID I NOT KNOW?!
Wow, he let me put him down a little while ago and he's still napping. I'm going to go enjoy this free time :D
