So, some buddies and I went canvassing in Savannah for
Troy Davis this weekend. In addition to the usual random weirdness of going door-to-door (one couple invited me in to play Guitar Hero. They actually had the controllers out, so I don't that particular euphemism has spread. Probably not, anyway), we got signatures in a Kroger parking lot. Conversation that's still bugging me:
Me: Are you familiar with the Troy Davis case?
Lady: Yes, and I'm not in favor of it. *walks off very fast*
I'm still not sure what that means. Not in favor of what? Re-opening the case? Executing a man who's likely to be innocent? Me dying of heat stroke trying to get signatures?
But we got about 400 signatures from Chatham County residents, so...go us!
