Thank you so very much for posting your beautiful photos!

Sorry for not even opening my friendspage these last few days, I'm trying not to suffocate under that huge heap of "Jahrgangsstufentests" and the test on the Kite-Runner as well as the last Klausur - Wedekind... "Notenschluss" is on Wednesday, so I have to manage. I'm almost through.

Life-size toy-soldiers, golden... erm... "onions" (erm... English for "Zwieberlturm"? *LOL*). And poor dead foxes. Right. I actually do wear leather (shoes and jackets) because I also eat meat (both with a bad conscience) but then... nobody eats a fox. Nor a ferrett. So for what do they need to wear their fur and breed them in cages to keep their hair clean? And wearing fur even returns here, too, at least it did last winter :-(.

You will manage *crossing fingers* Keep going and look forward to the holidays. :x

Well, I just tried to explain to elle above why they still wear furs in Russia. Sooner or later awareness will spread throughout the world.
That humans kill animals is normal and acceptable for me. It is our nature to eat meat and make use of animal skins etc. The problem is the toreturing of animals really. Much can be avoided by refusing to wear furs - which we don't really need in our climate anyway. But you are right - furs have returned with a vengeance. I often hope its artificial fur when I see people wearing it. Mostly its old ladies though (diffferent generation).

By the way, I always found Hagrid's moleskin coat unnecessarily cruel. Not funny at all.

Fur has even returned with young lables :-(, kids wearing fur collars along with their rapper attire.

I know, foxes raised on wire meshes in little boxes...

My family has/had two farms, one a chicken farm (not nice...), one a small self-sustaining farm with "happy" animals... I grew up eating what they produced but have taken to supermarket-shopping, of course. Well.

*LOL* "Elle above"? :-) She IS divine, for sure (and she doesn't harm any animal, yes, of course she's "Elle above". *LOL*)

For the collars that's true :( One of the cases where I kept on hoping it was artificial. Rappers are no role models - what a surprise!

It is horrible what we do to animals. Maybe it will be getting better with time. People are much better informed about all this than in former times.
How lucky you were with the two farms. Your parents should supply you with eggs etc. :)

Bow before elle *rofl*

*LOL*, no, my parents don't lay eggs (anymore). The chicken-farmer great-uncle is retired and keeps his vintage farm machinery - collector, *LOL*, he doesn't use those - where the hen-cages were. AND: He fed them fish-powder, good for the hen's growth as they didn't get to eat any worms in their cages, but those eggs were disgustingly fishy, at times. I taste the fish-powder in eggs, still. Lots of chicken farmers use it.

Blurks - in that case you can go and buy your eggs at the supermarket indeed. :)

Rather at an organic farm. *LOL* My uncle's chicken farm was mass production FOR the supermarkets.

*LOL*, did you think in terms of little organic carrot fields?
The village is lovely, nevertheless - click your way through *LOL*. I had a lovely childhood there...

Nice :) I can imagine your childhood there. I got relatives in Southern Germany, too, so I feel connected in a way :) Schwörsheim is a little village and the people there know nothing of organic farming I am sure...
But I don't want you complaining about the Russians wearing furs any more :p

Wait! *LOL* My uncle tried letting the hens out of the cages, and they started pecking each other (well, they were all sitting in a heap on the floor. *LOL*. Bad idea!!!) ... After a month and several naked hens he re-constructed the cages and made them big enough for 4 hens to fit onto each perch and into the sleeping corner and the sand-bath. They re-grew their feathers and seemed quite OK. (I know, keeping bird in cages is cruel, no matter whether canary birds or hens on an egg-farm. But it's nothing like the fur-animal farms... I was a member of "Greenpeace" when I was younger and the older members (not me) tried to free Chinchillas in the "Bayrischer Wald" once. The stories they told were shocking. My uncle's farm wasn't shocking at all, with those eight "floors" of cages with hens sitting on their perches rustling their feathers, blinking into the sky when the automatic sunroof opened... and complaining when it rained on them because it only had a light-sensor, and if it rained when the sky was light we were warned by a " ( ... )

Cute ;) So, you must feel very close to all kinds of hens, huh? ;)
I agree of course as to the fur farms. And the cruelty when animals are used as "guinea-pigs" for the cosmetric industry etc-. Have you ever read Felidae by Akif Pirincci?

I've read Felidae and I usually pay attention to what cosmetics I buy.

Good girl :)

Cool, she was already there? Mine will be next week on Friday. I'll be off to Salzburg on Sunday and will travel to Lörrach from there. Little adventure. Lörrach is sold out now - finally.

Wow, NEXT Friday!

He's going to spend quite a long time around here... Hamburg (31st October) has finally been officially confirmed, Ispellit has told me. *LOL* They had started selling tickets before LC confirmed he would actually sing then. Risky. :-)

I know, risky. But it would have been too cruel to cancel that one, too. Still crossing my fingers that it will really take place. I am sure you two will have a great time.
Wish me sunshine for Lörrach!
