I really do think this article makes a good point about BSG, while the show presents a lot of things that don't conform to feminist ideals it DOES illustrate a level of gender equality that is unparalleled anywhere else. Men and women are different; they behave differently towards eachother, man to man, woman to woman and man to woman. BSG has impressed me so much in its writers' refusal to sugar coat or pull punches. It's shocking sometimes, and triggering I'm sure for some people. It's made me cry in good and bad ways and made me smile and rage.
Aw heck, just watch it for yourselves. It's amazing and awesome and I want MOAR!
