It was.. okay. Not great, but not too horrible. (Well, not the whole day anyway.)
Mum has a gift for picking silly-but useful- gifts. She (and grandpa) bought me a huge bunch of stuff for use in a bath.. including (but definitely not limited to) a bath pillow! Who wants a pillow while in a bathtub? How odd.. Anyway! The reason she did this is whenever I come home from college I sit in the bathtub for hours.. What can I say? I miss baths while away at college. And our showers suck. (Want to hear the rant? Ask me about the dorm showers over IM.) I guess it's a sensible gift, but it amused me. I also convinced her to buy me a copy of Munchkin (I got dragged to the mall for most of the day; Grandpa wanted shoes). (MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!) Anyone that does not know what Munchkin is.. well. You're missing out. It's a fun game.
Anyway, after spending way too much time at the mall.. (During this time Grandpa manages to point out that I am "fat" and need to lose wight enough times to reduce me to tears..) we go buy my birthday 'cake'.. umm.. more like tarts. But they're good tarts!
...At least I had a good breakfast.. even if I did have to help make it.. And Komissarov (my stepfather) sent me a vase of white roses. (Ah. Delivered flowers. How cute. Well, it was a very nice gesture. He's out of the country, too.)
Oh! More gifts. Anna (my roomie at college) gave me a volume of manga (Rozen Maiden).. Vik, Dim and Aunt Tanya sent me a very adorable cat-shaped stand for my telephone, a cup for making tea (it has a part that strains leaves, and the part for the water... very cool. Though it is pink and flowery.. I have a feeling Aunt Tanya picked it out.) and some Pocky.
Okay, so this day ranks second on the worst birthdays I've ever had list. Right behind the birthday I spent out of my home state, looking at colleges.
BUT! On the positive side, lots of people wished me a happy birthday?
(I feel.. loved? Nah. Appreciated for my existence, I guess.)
I think that's all I wanted to say about the day.
