30 Ways Puck and Kurt Get Out of LimapatchfireJune 2 2012, 14:06:41 UTC
[Part 1 of ?]
As soon as the train leaves, it's over. Puck knew it would be. They're all there to see Rachel leave, but it's the last thing they do as a group, and it's almost fascinating how the juniors-rising seniors-whatever-separate themselves from the recent graduates. Ice cream, Puck hears Sam say. Set list discussion, Tina informs Mike. I'll call you later, Blaine tells Kurt. Brittany looks torn but walks away with Sugar, and Santana just sniffs, trying to mask whatever it is she's feeling.
And it's not as simple as the seniors, recent graduates, leaving together. Finn just walks away without a glance at any of them, climbing back into the Jeep he borrowed. Mike walks to the ticket window and starts asking something about Chicago; Quinn and Santana do leave together, but that's hardly surprising. Before three minutes have passed, Puck's one of only two people standing at the train station.
"Puckerman," Kurt says quietly.
"Thought you'd be on that train with her, Kurt," Puck responds.
"The many ways in which that statement is erroneous." Kurt sighs, and for just a minute, he looks exactly how Puck feels. Tired. At the end of his rope. Eighteen and out of hope.
