“Hey! Mr. Schue.” Puck greeted, giving his old teacher a hug. “What are you doing in New York?”
“Glee Club made it to nationals.” Schue said with a grin. “It’s great to see you Puck. Haven’t heard much of what you’re doing these days. Doing well?”
“Doing great.” Puck grinned. “I’ll try and make sure we go to see nationals then, to give some support for New Directions.”
“We?” Schue asked, “Seeing someone?”
Puck nodded, “Married actual--” he stopped when a little girl with red hair and a shirt that was inside out ran up to them. “Papa! Papa help!” She flung herself at Puck and grabbed his legs.
“What is it, hon?” Puck bent down.
“He’s trying to make me try on a dress.” She wailed.
Puck bit back a smile. “Better you than me.”
She looked up, face confused, “Daddy has tried to make you wear a dress?”
Puck laughed, “Nevermind.” He lifted her up, “Soph, I’d like you to meet Mr. Schuester. He used to teach me and your Daddy.”
“Hello.” She said with a smile. She was missing her two front teeth.
“Hello.” Schue said. “It’s very nice to meet you.”
Sophie was back to talking to Puck, “I don’t want to try on a dress. I don’t care if I’m supposed to look nice for my kindergarten graduation. I don’t like dresses.”
“A fact your daddy mourns every day.” Puck said solemnly. “Does he know you’re here with me?”
“Yes.” Sohpie said just as over the store radio, someone said ‘Would Sophia Hummel-Puckerman come to costumer service? Your father is looking for you. Sophia Hummel-Puckerman to costumer service.'
Puck rolled his eyes, “Come on, squirt. Gotta stop your daddy from having a panic attack.” He turned to Schue, “Sorry we didn’t really talk. But I’ll try and find you at Nationals.”
“What’s a panic attack?” Schue heard her say as the two walked away. Schue blinked. He hadn’t expected to run into Puck at New York, nor to find out that Puck had a little girl or that he was married to Kurt. He found himself looking forward to seeing them at nationals.
