(no subject)
So I am home for spring break. It is good to be on break but it is kind of lonely beause I think we are the only school in the country to have this week off. Being in Rutland is boring enough, but none of my friends are here to keep me company. Side note: I'm really getting into the musical Company. I did see Gerry's play, Gentlemen Perfer Blondes, twice. The show was actually really good, one of Encore's best. This probably stems fromthe fact Cathy didn'y kill it with any crazzy concept. I totally got that she was going for over the top soap opera feel, or as she called it early hollywood film. Either way it just worked. Gerry, Casey, Josh, Courtany, Don, and Danny were really great. Chealsea and Nick Mckelvie were also good. The rest of the cast didn't quite click and lacked energy and physical pressence, but they are all young and will hopefully learn. And it didn't really ruin the show because they had smaller parts and the leads were so strong they carried the show. However Im worried Encore will totally suck next year when all the seniors leave. I ran into Chris and Dustin at the show the second night. It was good to see them and to reconnect, I haven't seen either of them since I left for college, but I can now only handle them in small doses. It was a bit sad, Chris is still drooling over Chealsea and Dust is drooling over Chris. Gosh do I date winners.
In other news classes are all going well. I love my new Phi Mu family especially my big Melissa and my twin Lauren. All of the girls are so wonderful. I really feel like I have found a place were I belong nad am accepted unconditionally. My play is coming along really well. We now have a set design and are starting to block the scenes. Hopefully soon I will also get my lighting designer. I love my cast and my stage manager Grant who I was initally worried about has turned out to be great. So all is going good in my life.
