I think Earthlink TotalAccess breaks my Internet. No, I'm serious.

Maybe...ten, fifteen minutes ago I got disconnected. No big deal, just sign back on. I do, and I hear the strangest thing. See, when I get kicked offline, I hear this subtle "click". Oddly enough, I hear it before I hear the sign on chime. The chime goes off, and the Earthlink TotalAccess bar comes up. WHOOHOO INTERNET! ...only not. For some reason, I cannot connect to either MSN or AIM, nor can I load FireFox, Maxthon, or IE (it doesn't work anymore but if all else fails and all that). Naturally I'm in a bit of a panic. I'd rather not have to call Tech Support. I loathe making phone calls. So I restart, and sign on again. The TA panel comes up again. Still no browsing or instant messengers. I remember from my Earthlink 5.0 days that Earthlink is supposed to have a browser. I check all around the panel for that. But, of course, there's NOTHING, not a single mention of an Earthlink Web browser. So after signing off and on and restarting and hearing clicks that shouldn't be there, I finally switched the numbers I use to connect around and signed on AGAIN. This time, the TA panel didn't work at all and I was granted full Internet access.

Weird...

In other news we're going to have to give God Damnit back soon. Her real owner has returned and is gonna want her back sometime next week. I've got mixed feelings about giving her back. On the one hand, no more claws sinking into my skin, no more tearing up the cupboards and carpet, no more catbox to have to change. On the other hand, no more kitty to pet and give nose scratches to or have sleeping in my lap. Ah well.

Currently reading chapter 2 of Wheat, or I was when Earthlink died on me. ^^ Time to reopen the window!
