Shanghai: Week 1: Th

SO, first day of work, and the office receptionists didn't even know I was suppose to come in. This pretty much reflects everyone else's first day of work in my summer program thing. Everyone told me they went on hours and hours of facebook and whatnot because it was so unorganized.

My supervisor got in at 10am, but then he told me that the program coordinator (the J's) didn't specify what time I would come in, so he had already scheduled a client. I even called the program coordinators last night to double check when I have to go to work... I have been sitting in a conference room by myself for about an hour.

This is ridiculous slash awesome, and I'd much rather be sleeping.

By the way, did you know that all other English/American blogging sites are not allowed in China? Unless I'm totally mistaken, I couldn't access Xanga, Wordpress, Blogger, etc. Someone said something about accessing these through a proxy site, but I'm not tech-savy enough to figure this out.

Oh, my lawyer man came back, I think he's going to put me to work...

So I was reading Monika's livejournal (a girl in the same program)... and I've realized that she talks about all the political and formal stuff concerning China that I leave out. Like China has a strict One Child Policy since 1980, or China lacks religion, etc. I kind of find these facts and findings irrelevant to myself since I am Chinese--it is already integrated? In any case, her blog's kind of cool so check it out! http://monikajohnson.livejournal.com
