Important Day
I have been on kind of a Livejournal/Facebook hiatus for a while but today is a very important day. As most of you know, today is tax day. I will be out at the tax tea party outside of the old state Capital building at 5pm this afternoon in downtown Tallahassee. I urge everyone in the Tallahassee area to do this same.
There is now attacks coming from all angles on these tea parties because they are going to be so effective. I wanted to take a minute to explain why I will be at the tea party today and to fend off some of these idiotic attacks. The point of this gathering is not a boycott on taxes- it is a protest against the out of control government spending and expansion of federal government power that the Obama administration along with both branches of Congress vowed again just last November. This out of control spending will surely result in higher taxes, along with out of control inflation and make our currency worthless because we are literally printing money to pay for all this garbage.
What has happened in the last 4 months is a disaster for the future of our country. Let me lay some facts on you. The Obama administration and this Congress have spent more money in the first 4 months of this year than the Bush administration did in the entire 8 years he held office- INCLUDING the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. They have spent more money in the first 4 months this year than the Federal Government has spent in our entire 200+ year history combined over all of those years even after it is adjusted for inflation and also including all of the wars we have fought in. The burden put on my generation and the the next generations of Americans just in the last 4 months is really hard realize because its immense scale. This amount of money is hard to fathom and they are spending it more and more everyday. There seems to be no end to the spending and the only way to even start to pay for all of this is to tax the hell out of people. EVEN IF they taxed all of what the rich made and half of what everyone else made, it still would not be enough when interest is calculated into the equation. All of this spending not only puts an immense burden on tax payers, but it also gives the government much more power than anyone living today has ever experienced (unless you lived during FDR, which was also a disaster). I don't care whether you are Democrat, Republican, Conservative, "Progressive", Liberal or whatever, the federal government should never have this much power and it was never intended to. We want this out of control spending and expansion of the federal government to stop. This is what the tax tea parties are all about.
If you agree with any of this I really encourage you to join me today outside of the old state Capitol in Tallahassee at 5pm or at a local tax tea party in the area you live today. There will be over 500 tea parties going on all day today in all 50 states. Google tax day tea parties to find one in your area.

Overall, I really just implore people to educate themselves on what is going on today in our government and relate it to history. It will scare you.
