I just got home from the State House, where my father and I were at Realtor Day on Beacon Hill with the folks from EMAR (Eastern Middlesex Association of Realtors).
God, I missed being in that building. And I felt a hell of a lot more comfortable in there than I did last year at this time (obviously).
Among the many things we did, we spent some time with Senator Richard Tisei. Senator Tisei is not only a Realtor himself, and a great friend to the organization, but he's just been made Senate minority leader. He took us on a little tour of the building, which included his very swank new office in the East Wing, the Senate reading room and the Senate chambers (our CEO got to play the the gavel), and the balcony in the front of the State House. I had my camera on me, so I took a few really great pictures. I'll be uploading them in a little bit.
Professionally, I wanted to make a couple notes more for my own benefit than for anyone who might be reading this:
Steve Ryan is the head of the MAR legislative team. The associate council is Margi Grant.
Charlotte Scidari made a phone call for me, and I should follow up with her soon.
Rep. James Micelli is a friend of Jeanette Tighe's.
Call Nancy, Carol's friend.
Mark Cranfill is EMAR's current president. www.emarealtor.com
While I was there, I also got a call back from one of the placement agencies I contacted a few days ago. I have an interview with them next Wednesday at 1 pm. Which, hopefully, is going to mean that I'll be able to get the hell out of BRU already and move on to something else before I have to hurt someone.
