Nana brings the gangsta party.

PSA: Loreal's Voluminous Waterproof mascara is a god send! Without fail, I always cry at weddings, and the bonafide warrior of the mascara world deserves a little e-product placement for it's reliability. My cousin, Jess, and her husband are so utterly in love, their adoration borders on the drippy, popsicle in the Sahara side. They're the sort of couple that exude the kind of giddy ambiance you can't help but find infectious.

Indubitably, their company was beyond fantastic, but the real treat was hanging out with my grandmother. As a kid and throughout the majority of my teenage years, Nana had absolutely nothing to say to me. She's the antithesis of a self described "children person" and a typical impersonal Christmas gift consisted of a used calander from the year 1983 or a set of cookie cutters. However, as I have gotten older, Nana's become significantly more interested in my life. It's clear that she has made a conscience effort to view me less as a number and more as a person she can relate to. Apparently when you are nearly twenty, you can finally achieve a state of "absolute loveliness," at least according to Nana's standards.

My grandmother expressed her desire to dance the last song of DJ Predictable As Fuck's playlist for the wedding reception, so exemplifying the grandest of chivalry, I escorted her frail, 85 pound frame to the dance floor. At ninety years of age, my Nana BROKE IT DOWN (hands up in the air and everything; though minimal ass popping) to Usher and Lil Jon's "Yeah!" It was the cutest, most delightful scene I have ever witnessed IN MY LIFE. Gee willikers, I really do love the elderly.

On another note, today I had an impetus to compile a playlist consisting entirely of songs alluding to New York City. EXAMPLE #587 to solidify that I have entirely too much time on my hands. I am so pumped to study at F.I.T. for a semester junior year, and I suppose my anxiousness is just being directed through musical selections right now. Lame? Probably. So far I have gathered the following 26 songs, their placement still TBA:

1.) New York, New York- Frank Sinatra
2.) I'm the Luckiest Guy on the Lower East Side- The Magnetic Fields
3.) New York State of Mind- Billy Joel
4.) The Only Living Boy in New York- Simon & Garfunkel
5.) New York, New York- Ryan Adams
6.) N.Y.C.- Steve Earle
7.) 53rd & 3rd- Ramones
8.) Rockin' the Bronx- Black 47
9.) Hard Times in New York Town- Bob Dylan
10.) On Broadway- The Coasters
11.) New York City Serenade- Bruce Springsteen
12.) Autumn in New York- Frank Sinatra
13.) N.Y.C.- Interpol
14.) New York- Ja Rule f/MY BOI, FAT JOE and Jadakiss
15.) 14th Street- Rufus Wainwright
16.) Talking New York- Bob Dylan
17.) The Boxer- Simon & Garfunkel
18.) Fairytale of New York- The Pogues f/Kirsty MacColl
19.) Marching Bands of Manhattan- Death Cab For Cutie
20.) Hover- Rhett Miller
21.) No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn- The Beastie Boys
22.) Safe in New York City- AC/DC
23.) New York City Cops- The Strokes
24.) This Island- Le Tigre
25.) I Love N.Y.C.- Andrew W.K.
26.) Chelsea Morning- Joni Mitchell

Though the compilation is looking pretty solid so far, I need more suggestions. It may easily turn into a NOW!: That's What I Call A Good Day [didn't even have to use my A.K.] in New York with two full length volumes.

OMG 587.587.587.587.587.587.587.587!
