Brazilians & The Boycott

Mar 22, 2008 07:48

I don't want to annoy my lj-friends who were against the boycott, because I believe that our(= all fen, all friendly ljers) union is more important than anything else and, in particular, more important than the boycott, because there were good arguments against the boycott, too. But I have to congratulate my Brazilian friends for the way they conducted themselves during the boycott. Our communities, fanfic_br and potterslashfics, joined the protest and kept closed during it. We all kept in contact with each other on our Yahoo group, and surprisingly, there were no disagreements. No one disagreed with the boycott!

I feel that this is due to Brazilian cultural traits and historical specificities, but I leave it to the social scientists to interpret the phenomenon.
