A statement on moral values
I'm not a Christian. (I was a Christian once, but even then my Christianity had very little to do with JKR's moral ideas. For example, when I was a Christian, I believed that everything could be forgiven.) I have never felt comfortable in a universe where we talk about "tainted souls" and "Unforgivables" (yet Harry cast two Unforgivables in DH). I think it's time for me to get rid of this universe. That doesn't mean that I won't write in JKR's universe any more -- that means that, if I write another HP fic, it will probably be very different from the HP fics I wrote before. It will be closer to my beliefs. (I'm an agnostic, an anarchist and a socialist.) Not that I have completely adopted JKR's ideas and beliefs in my fanfiction, no. But I've been trying not to go frontally against them. Not any more.
