He never wants to talk about Snape. It's a bit frustrating for us, but it's understandable, because he's supposed to know the character's future and he can't spoil anything to the audience.
I agree with imkalena that it is a good thing Alan Rickman is on a first name basis with his character. It would just be odd if he went around calling himself by his last name. He would sound like the American football players talking about themselves in the third person all the time. Very disconcerting!

Ohhh, Alan, you make me squee myself silly! That's adorable, calling his character 'Severus.' I was going to say the same thing Imkalena said, that it might be a good sign. There was also that other interview where someone said something rather negative about his relationship to Harry, and he replied in defense with something like, "What do you mean? I'm always SAVING Harry!" *g*
I think he likes Severus well enough, and hopefully that IS a good sign for the future! ;-)
