Some News

The White Stripes -- currently dazzling fans on tour across Europe -- have announced details of their new single and video. The third song from "Get Behind Me Satan" to be turned into a video is "The Denial Twist". This is the first video from the new album to reunite them with long-time collaborator Michel Gondry.
The video for "The Denial Twist" was shot in New York City in October and is Gondry's creative re-telling of the week in 2003 when The White Stripes took over the music performance slot each night on NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Jack and Meg play their 2003 selves and were delighted to be joined in this reenactment by Conan O'Brien in his first music video role. "I don't know whether to thank Jack, Meg and Michel for an amazing experience or sue them for copyright infringement," said O'Brien.
In another twist to the White Stripes/Conan tale, the band will perform the song from the video on the show on Friday December 2nd. Late Night with Conan O'Brien airs on NBC at 12.35/11.35pm.
In other news, Jack White has finally confirmed he has recorded a brand new, currently untitled track for a Coke advert. He told NME.com: "I've been offered the opportunity to write a song in a way which interests me as a songwriter. I certainly wouldn't want a song that I'd already written to be used on a commercial. That seems strange.
"But to be asked to write something particular along one theme of love in a worldwide form that I'm not really used to appealed to me. I've written a song and I wrote it really quickly and it's an interesting commercial that's been made. I was inspired by the commercial."

+(at least coke has it’s red and white thing going on, so it’s all good  )

The broadcast date for the advert is yet to be confirmed.
Also The White Stripes will release a new EP before the end of the year entitled "Walking With A Ghost". The five-tracker will feature a cover of the title track by fellow duo Tegan And Sara (stream) alongside four unreleased live cuts.

A new band

Jack White has teamed up with his longtime friend Brendan Benson for the new project, entitled the Raconteurs.
"I don't want it to sound anything like the White Stripes," said Jack. "This is a full-on band -- dual songwriters coming together, building off one another, bouncing off each other."
The nearly finished album, due early next year, will mix up the sounds of Benson, White, and Greenhornes' Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler -- artists from the White Stripes' V2 Records, who played with Jack on Loretta Lynn's 2004 album Van Lear Rose.
White and Benson wrote most of the record at Benson's Victorian home in Detroit. For certain songs, they used a cut-and-paste approach. "We each went into separate rooms," Benson says. "He wrote a section, and I wrote a section. We didn't talk about it, we just did it, and it worked out beautifully."
The band's name (French for "skilled teller of anecdotes") was White's idea. "Jack is an endless source of great stuff," says Benson. "He'll spring something on you, and you'll be like, 'How the f--k did you come up with that?'"

So that we all know..

White Stripes frontman Jack White, 29, married British supermodel Karen Elson, 25, Thursday (june 2, 2005)+(I’m not sure about this date, really..maybe it was in 2004 as one friend told me..but hell, I don’t care) in the Brazilian city of Manaus, according to RollingStone.com. The couple, who had not made their relationship public, were wed by a Shaman priest in a canoe at the spot where three rivers - the Rio Negro, the Solimones and the Amazon - meet. An intimate gathering of close friends, the wedding featured Stripes drummer Meg White as maid of honor and the Stripes' manager as best man. The Shaman ceremony was followed by a blessing at a local Catholic cathedral.
The British-born Elson - a major model since the late Nineties, known for her incredibly pale complexion, red hair and ultra-slim frame - appears in the Stripes' new video, "Blue Orchid," and has been the face of such fashion houses as Gucci, Chanel and Louis Vuitton. She has previously been linked to former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha. While a band statement claims that this is the first marriage for both Elson and White, he was married to Meg White from 1996 to 2000.

+(so it means they’re not really siblings..ok, now I know..)

I made this... not much but..I think it's nice, for me at least...
