Vivent les mariés !

Haven't posted here in several months so just thought I'd run you all through the latest events. Currently preparing a Research Masters in Human Factors. The hearing is on october 22nd, so cross fingers everyone ...

On another note, a close friend got married yesterday, and I was best man. The wedding was beautiful, like 2 years in the making. Bride and groom are both "university types", he in english and religion, she in law. So the wedding was themed in England, though the food at the reception was french (thank god).

The service was packed (about three hundred in the church and some outside) with friends and family. It was an ecumenical service, which is quite original : both a catholic priest and lutheran pastor presided, which gave the whole thing a very new atmosphere. Choir work was beautiful since several people from the bride's family regularly sing in front of large crowds. Met up with a school friend who I hadn't seen in several years, who's now finished his law studies and starting up a consulting firm. Also, he's engaged. Which given the guy's character is a real surprise ^^.

The real surprise was the atmosphere at the reception : everybody seemed to know each other. Bride and groom have apparently managed to fuse together two huge families, which isn't easy. They seem very happy together, so (very) long may it last.
