How Time Flies…

I cannot believe it is half way through August. It seems like summer just got here and it is nearly done. In fact, it seems like just a month ago we were moving in--how quick the time flies.

My parents came for a weeks visit. As always, it was so good to see them, and so hard to see them leave. Each time they go, I hide my tears and spend the rest of the day longing for Wisconsin. Tara's family has been here this week. (We are really packing in the guests!) We took the whale (Orca) watching cruise from PT to the San Juan Islands. Incredible. We saw three pods--some coming within 15 feet of the boat. Such graceful creatures….truly magnificent.

In other news….I am slow to work on my consulting business. Not from lack of interest, but unfortunately, my health continues to be a struggle. I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism (under active thyroid) in May. Finally, I had a reason for the fatigue (i.e. the many naps Jordan was taking), the weight gain, etc..etc...I have been on medication, however, the struggle continues for optimal health. Unfortunately, living with this disease is more complicated and serious than I had originally thought. On the bright side, it doesn't have to be life-threatening (when medicated), and can be managed. My biggest frustration is not having the energy to life the kind of life that I want. I am working with my doctor, and plan to take the next month to really concentrate on my health, and try some alternative therapies. We will see how it goes…If you are interested, here is a site full of hypothyroid info:

Other than that, much is the same. Tara is still working on her own business while working for Greenspace. We continue to check out the area. We went camping at Lake Crescent (http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/getaways/34427_crescent09.shtml). Went to Seattle Pride…I went surfing at Neah Bay…and hopefully we will get to Victoria and Vancouver in the next few months.

I miss you all. Big happy Birthday to Judy!
