...I never see a sign of my supposed players when I show up at Zimmie's on Tuesdays. Apparently no one cares enough to remember they even said they'd join.
As much as I hate to concede to anything, least of all the lowest common denominator, if people don't show up even after the game shows up on the schedule, it'll be time for Plan B.
What's Plan B? Quite simply, concede to people's expectations of HERO by running Champions in particular; cater to their fickleness, unreliability, and short attention spans by making a bunch of loosely affiliated pregen characters and letting them play whoever they want that week and trying for adventures short enough to be over in one session; but also trying to eke RP and vague consistency out of them by piling Psychological Limitations on the characters; and making it actually possible to plan for the future and have continuity exist by not allowing any characters other than my own.
If that doesn't work, I think I need to look elsewhere for a game that's up to my standards.
