Back on the horse
On Saturday Erica and I hosted a birthday lunch for a friend, and after that we went to the Vietnamese New Year festival at Warwick Farm. Erica and I decided to ride as we haven't ridden for probably about 8 months now! I had just replaced the battery a few weeks ago and gotten it reregistered. The damn thing was covered in so much dust it was unbelievable... I really should ride it more often!
Anyway the weather was stellar, and so we decided to head to the place on two wheels. Good thing we did as the traffic there was absolutely unbelievable!!! Being on the bike, we easily zoomed between lanes and around cars, skipping the entire congo line of traffic all the way. On the way back, it took the other guys about an hour just to get out of the car park! We just zoomed straight out between the cars, sweeeeet :)
Everything we go riding, I have to nag Erica to wear a jacket even if the weather is quite warm. Granted its not a riding jacket and won't really do much if we come off at speed, but if I have a low speed spill *touch wood*, then at least it will offer some protection. But that is now a thing of the past as I just bought Erica her very first riding jacket!!! *see my last post*. So she'll have no more excuses to ride without a jacket. Next on the cards for her, are gloves, boots, and riding jeans. And finally the helmet. She's currently using my spare helmet though she really wants a pink one! But that can come last!
The sucky thing about buying gear for Erica is that now I want new gear! But unfortunately bike gear is just so darn expensive here.... sigh....
