Blue Monday (Not about New Order)

YEAH! This comic rules!
Blue Monday is the story of Bleu Finnegan and her silly group of friends in a California high School (Is it Jefferson? I can't remember) in the early '90s. They're all into Britpop and a bunch of other crap. The artwork is really fun and pretty, the writing is funny and all of that poop. Read it.

Other shit:
-In the middle of X-Files season six, which is really, really good.
-Just re-read The Cheese Monkeys by Chip Kidd, and then read (for the first time) its sequel The Learners. I thought the ending of The Cheese Monkeys made no sense when I read it the first time, and it still didn't, but I did dig the sequel. The ending was in the same puzzling manner of its predecessor, but it was more like a Barton Fink sort of thing, rather than a Lost Highway sort of thing. Good Shit.
-Watched some seven hour VH1 Classic documentary, 7 Ages of Rock, which was just a sort of "history of rock" type thing. I've seen enough shit about the British Invasion and the advent of Punk, so those sections were pretty worthless to me, outside of some interesting insights here or there, but the stuff on Art Rock (Velvet Underground, Genesis, Roxy Music, Pink Floyd), American Alternative (R.E.M., Pixies, Nirvana), and Britpop (The Smiths, Blur, Oasis) taught me a thing or two. Good thing to watch on a bitter twelve degree day when you don't feel like leaving the house.
-Grant Morrison just finished up the first chunk his Batman run, and it is really, really good. I've gone back and started reading through the whole run again, and it's just a fantastic story. Morrison still has this shit.
-I actually bought a single, for some reason. For and album that is six years old for that matter. It was " The Hindu Times" by Oasis, which was for the album Heathen Chemestry. It contains two b-sides unavailable elsewhere: "Just Getting Older" and "Idler's Dream", both sung by Noel Gallagher, and both better than the single itself. "Just Getting Older" is one of the best post (What's the Story) Morning Glory? Oasis tracks I've heard. Definitely a decent pickup for a dollar. (The single itself is actually pretty decent, but the b-sides are superior.)
-I'm furious because the third volume of One Pound Gospel came out two months ago and nobody in Erie seems to have it in stock. I guess I'll just have to get it online.
-Because Mom wanted me to ask for more than one thing for Christmas, I settled on these four items:
--Absolute Sandman Volume Three (Comic)
--Downtown Owl by Chuck Klosterman (Book)
--Dig Out Your Soul by Oasis (CD)
--Spaced: The Complete Series (DVD)
So hopefully that settles that.
-Looking forward to seeing everyone. Remember, help reduce the pet population: kill puppies.
