[ The little raven girl peers from the side of the door, brownish-red eyes watching the somewhat familiar figure perched on the ladder. ]

Dammit, there goes my masculinity.

[[Fakir grumbles under his breath. Nothing. There's absolutely nothing that can help. He steps down from the ladder, shoving the book back on the shelf. He doesn't seem to notice the little girl by the door.]]

[ She leans over a little further to get a better look, balancing on one little foot. ]

[[He turns away from the shelf and blinks at the little figure by the door. She's not transparent, so not one of the childlike ghosts he's come across. And this little girl looks so vaguely familiar.]]

[ She jumps back upon being spotted, looking around wildly as though she's been caught doing something wrong. ]

Ah--uh--um!

[ She walks into the room, hands fidgeting in front of her as she looks down at the floor. ]

Fahkrir...? Where this? Where town?

[[His eyebrows furrow. This girl knows him? It can't be. She must be from another world. He swallows thickly, wiping his palms on his white uniform pants and slowly approaches the little girl. He clears his throat as he stands before her.]]

[[Then again, she IS just a kid in a huge place all alone, apparently.]]

[[He rubs the back of his neck awkwardly. Not good at this. At all.]]

Do you need help looking for the Fakir you know?

[ She shuffles one shoe on the floor. ]

[ The little girl starts counting them off on her fingers. ]

[ She clutches her little hands in front of her, suddenly looking about ready to cry. ]

[[He reaches out, then pulls back, but reaches out again, very unsure of what to do. He looks around, almost as if searching for anyone that can help.]]

[[He releases an irritated sigh, and pinches the bridge of his nose. After a moment, he hesitantly places a hand on her head.]]

[ She sniffles noisily a few times, but manages to stop from outright crying when his hand rests on her head. ]

[ She blinks, and then seems to think for a moment. ]

[[He takes a deep breath, and looks at her for a long moment.]]

Maybe it's best if she's away from her father. Let's find you a safe place to stay. That's the important thing now.
