Holidays and such...
Man...the holidays are upon me once again and once again I am in a funk. I love the fall/winter holidays, but normally this time of year I also start to reflect on holidays past, and who I spent them with. Now, though, this year, it seems that there is not lament for those people of the past, but for one in particular that I would love to spend the holidays with.
I will be leaving with my father at about 6am tomorrow morning to go visit his mother, aka my grandmother, at her place in good ol' Farmersville, Texas. I only see her once a year, so I guess I can afford to go up there again this year. I have plenty of reading material to take with me, having just bought the rest of the Sandman library I was missing and a couple of other grphic novels written by Neil Gaiman.
I wish I had a laptop to take with me so I could at least get some school work done while I am gone, seeing that I have a paper due on monday and 2 due on weds. Maybe I'll get one for graduation...which will be after the fact, but still a nice gift. I also need a new mode of transportation...but that is a pretty low priority.
The beta of Winamp 5 is the bomb. I haven't been a big fan of Winamp since about version 2, but this whole streaming tv thing they have going on with the version 5 beta kicks much ass.
Well, I guess I'm going to go read some more, and feel sorry for myself since I am not at the Atmosphere/Micronots show in San Antonio tonite with her. I figured I would be over her as quickly as I was into her, but that ain't the way things seem to be working out. We'll see what comes...one day I will be honest with her, even though I know it will not change the situation....I can only try. She moves in January or Febuary...so I guess I better figure something out to see if there is still a chance...
