What we feel we have to solve is why the dregs have not dissolved.

psymonetta, it's me jinx.

i was reading through some of the old antiwar posts in the community, and looking through some things i had written on my journal at the time. one of which talked about civil liberties and how the world as we knew it was going to begin to change very rapidly.

then the patriot act expired this week, though of course they will reinstate it and do what they want, and there was a dialogue about the mass surveillance of american people, though no one spoke up about it, and in many ways, we are in a police state now. i thought to myself, my god, how sad. all these years later, and it's almost like the people of the US were lulled into a bad dream that they couldn't ever awake from, because the media and the government pumped us so full of fear that it was easier to hide.

i dropped away from the movement itself due to infighting about how things should be run and done, but i still write and protest and try, in my own way, to make some kind of change. i remember all the hope i felt, that we could make a change, and now here we are. never ending war.

i hope you are well and healthy and that you are still your wonderful thoughtful self.
