Our Lily and our Lawry both had penis problems recently... luckily no catheter involved.

We began giving them wet food mixed with water as a treat, which they love, and it helps them get enough water that they seem to not have as much of the problem.

Hope Merv gets better soon!

It was actually the oddest thing. He just started licking down there, and I thought it was just a nervous belly licking thing. But his little prick was all inflamed, and he licked it until the end of it was a mess. He seemed to be getting plenty of water, and still going just fine, but with a little straining at the end, after he had already went.

I'm sure there's something more systemic going on. We're taking him in to the Holistic Vet ASAP, and hopefully there's some sort of homeopathy that will help the little guy out.

Urinary issues with cats can be emergency situations...

Luckily it wasn't bad with our cats.

Holistic vet, huh?
Let me know how that goes.

Yes, as soon as I realized it was a urinary problem we took him to the emergency clinic.

I've always used holistic vets for my cats. They're awesome.

That's so sad and scary. I don't get stressed out very readily, but having a hurting or sick cat will totally do it. Be well, both you and Merv.

To which holistic vet do you take him? I'd love to take our cats to one but haven't a clue where to go.

There are two that I have used in town, and I'd recommend both of them:

Nancy Curran at Hawthorne Veterinary Clinic
Bob Ulbrich at Holistic Pet Vet Clinic (he's a little prickly with people but is brilliant and very caring with pets)
