Thwarting the system....
So, according to turbotax, you can't import your previous year's information when you use the free file program through taxfreedom.com (free federal filing vs. turbotax's normal 39.95 charge).
What I discovered, accidentally this evening after balking at the $70.00 filing fee I was looking at and bolting to the taxfreedom.com site to just bite the bullet and fill in information:
If you start your return on turbotax.com and import all the information, complete everything but the actual fee paying and filing, then sign out, and go to taxfreedom.com and login using the same user/pass set up on turbotax.com....it miraculously already has all of your information ready, including the info imported from the previous year, and lets you file without the federal filing charges.
