2008 Goals - May results

Jun 17, 2008 20:29

So I just realized that I hadn't done this yet for last month. I've been busy at work and forgot about it. Gotta make sure I stay accountable with myself!

Goal 1: Reach rung 15 on the Hacker's Diet exercise plan - I was up to rung 5 by the second week of May, when I got really sick for about a week, which set me back a rung or two. However, I recovered and am currently on rung 7, though I think I ended May on about rung 5.

Goal 2: Increase non-retirement savings by 40% - Our economic stimulus package did indeed help. We went up 5.5% last month, for an increase of 36% this year, putting us just a little ahead of things, which is where I like to be.

Goal 3a: Solve one Project Euler problem a month using Python - I finished porting the ones I did in Java to Python, plus one more. Score!

Goal 3b: Write 3 LJ posts a month - Technically, I did, though I'm not satisfied with the 1-2 line posts that are just links to another website. But, like I said, things have been busy at work, so I haven't been able to cogitate on anything really good to post. Though I've got a veepstakes one cooking, maybe I can get that one out for June.

Goal 3c: Write one letter a month - I seem to miss this one every other month, and end up having to write two the second month. That's the situation I'm in now. Gotta find two people to write to in June.

Goal 4a: Visit six cultural institutions this year - None for May, but got one coming up this week for June :-)

Goal 4b: Go on three outdoorsy trips this year - Again, none for May, but got a prospective one coming up this weekend :-)

Goal 4c: Attend one geek convention - Got this one done for 2008, with the Wizards World Tour in Philadelphia. Also, I got to over 10,000 steps that day according to my new pedometer!

Goal 4d: Have a no-plans weekend each month - I think the weekend of May 24th was a low-commitment weekend, but I don't think we had any actual "no plans" weekends in May. Don't think there'll be any in June, either :-(. Damn being popular ;-)

And... that's it!
