The Challenge

Goal 1: 3 hours / week on a personal project: I didn't keep such good track. Also, I'm at work, so don't have my notebook anyway. However, I felt like I slacked off. Except for building a new shed door. Which still doesn't have a latch on it. Also, I was reminded how little I like working with my hands. But, like laundry, dishes, and holding a job, it's another adult annoyance I'll have to get used to and maybe even learn to tolerate, if not eventually like.

Goal 2: 3 essays / month: Hmm. I thought I did more. But I only count two actual "essays": Game Theory, which was a really great conversation with people (I should try to do more of those...); and Analysis Paralysis, where people seemed to latch onto the health insurance issue, but also resulted in a good debate with magus341 in the comments section and then over to his own response The Paradox of Choice. I recently came up with another angle on that topic, which I might try to build into an essay later if I can make it big enough.

I did try my hand at making my own Dinosuar Comic here: http://psyllogism.livejournal.com/146663.html . Maybe that should count for at least half a one?

Goal 3: Lose 33 pounds / year: I started up a "fitness challenge" with anailia, prototaph, and delirifrank. We went with the Body Fat Percentage metric, which unfortunately disqualified zephistopheles from also participating, since he's currently trying to raise his weight/BMI. We're still cheering you on, though!

It's definitely keeping my diet in check, though I'm still trying to increase my activity level. I have so many claims on my time!
