I got to validate myself as a man today.

Around 9:15ish tonight I found myself changing the tire to my truck at the very back of Lot 59 at ASU. All alone. In the dark. Fun. I swear compassion and decency really is a revolutionary concept in this country. About 4 people passed me and gawked while I changed the tire without stopping. One guy even drove by twice. I'm sure I was quite the menacing figure in my checkerboard vans, Floggin Molly T-shirt holding a tire iron, but really now people. It was the two girls in the fifth car that really broke the mold by stopping and asking if I was alright and of course this was after I had already finished changing the tire. I didn't really need any help, but it was really human of them to stop and ask. My heart really goes out to them. Then again, I've probably been the gawking jerk plenty of times in the past. Damn, I could really use a shower. I'm still covered in road dirt. Bleck.
