So the rapture only comes once every few years so we just had to celebrate! and really we went all out - it was soooo amazing! The photos are not as good as it was to be in out place for reals, but oh well. We spent most of the day yesterday decorating and getting ready for the party and we finished just in time. We invited people over at 5 for a potluck barbecue (if it was sunny we were going to grill outside, but it was raining - boo!) since the rapture would happen at six we wanted to eat together one last time. I was really excited to see people fly through the air, but I was pretty sure non of my friends would be those ones, but I wasn't 100% on that so I could have been surprised.

Someone was raptured in the chair closest to the camera, and someone is being raptured in the ceiling. We had a game of guess who is being/was raptured with the best guesses winning points. My favorite guess was the one in the ceiling here - A ninja - She was supposed to go to hell, but ninjas are sneaky. The pants were these weird womens pants that were pants with another layer over top in the front and the back. So after Matt said ninja I was like yes! That is what they look like!

Someone raptured in the corner (t-shirt and shorty shorts)- my favorite guess was Ashley Olson and the one from Matt (he thought the clothes left behind were people who went to hell so some of his were pretty funny). His was 6-year old Sally. She said "There is no God" when she didn't get a pony for her birthday. Commandment #1 bitch! I laughed. My favorite bathrobe person was Bill Murray.

Then in the hallway/second bedroom we had Rapture the game! It is like fishing - you throw your fishing pole over the wall and try to catch a true believer! You are playing God so you want to make sure you only rapture the good people. There were negative points for catching sinners.

And as for the person being raptured in that room (skirt and boots)- That was my favorite person in the process of being raptured. It looks soo good! I want to just keep it up forever as a reminder - May 21, 2011 Never Forget! Anyways my favorite guess for that one was Helen Keller or A cowgirl, volunteer firefighter,mother of six.

Blurry picture but there was someone raptured in the hallway (hiking pants and shirt) in front of the Rapture the Game! A tie for my favorite - Princess Kate or A serial killer. One of the bad ones like Hannibal Lecter.

Someone was raptured at the piano, and someone being raptured in front of the window. My favorite for piano (sparkley long dress and white gloves) was Elton John or Matt's - A little old lady who went to church every Sunday. She taught piano lessons, but she killed her pupils and collected their bones and used them to make the keys on a new piano.
My favorite for the one being raputred (mens dress pants) - the help. Also of note there is "Down at the Rapture with George" Above the piano. It is George W at the rapture. Hilarious.

I made up the light bright just for the rapture - I wanted Jesus to be happy with me.....After I took this photo Raymond remembered that we had Bible Adventures for the Nintendo so we put that on. People even played a little Baby Moses and David and Goliath. Good times

Then there was someone raptured in front of the couch (Black pants, white shirt, 1 sparkley glove), and someone going through the ceiling here. Also on the wall behind the couch we have a lovely Jesus light, but I apparently didn't get a picture of it. My favorite on the floor was a Ukrainian MJ fan in a coma, MJ impersonator because there can be only ONE MJ, or An extra from Paul McCartney/Stevie Wonder video for Ebony & Ivory.
My favorite for the one in the ceiling (white pans and blue and white polka dot sneaker) - Arnold Palmer is handed into heaven wearing his plantation pleated whites sipping sweet tea spiked with southern comfort. Also, Matt said he was going to put down "A serial killer. One of the good ones like Dexter" for one of them, but he ran out of people. I thought this one would be perfect for that because the pants make me thing miami vice.
Also on the wall is the most logical explanation we came up with for how they figured out yesterday was the rapture. Really we were talking to Brandon and he came up with it, but it sounded perfect to me. So it is Lion Dating. You take the number of lions that are alive now (shown by the large clump of lions on the right of the photo) and work back until you only have 2 lions - that is when the flood happened! I mean how could you go wrong with a calculation like this? I loved it and think this is probably how they calculated May 21 - I mean how else would you do it?

Then the last person that was raptured on the floor in front of the lion dating (short skirt and white tank top with a name and # on it) - my favorite guess was Hayden Panetierre or a Satanic zoomba instructor.
So we made amazing trophies for the prizes.

We also had lots of food - veggie burgers and hot dogs and chips and couscous salad and veggies and just lots. By the time all the food was here I was a little tipsy so I didn't get any pictures. We also had adult iced tea and punch (which tasted just like those strawberry creme candies. It was delicious!)
We really had sooo much fun! I loved the decorations and the guess who was raptured game was amazing. People came up with some really good ones and it was hilarious. We also had a special playlist of rapture/Jesus related songs that played all night. Things such as Blondies "Rapture", Spirit in the Sky, Ring of Fire, Jesus is Just Alright with Me, and so on. It was amazing. Then at 6:00 exactly an earthquake happened with O Fortuna playing! We all freaked out as Earthquake!! It was amazing - Rapture at 6. The timer worked perfectly. I had so much fun. I wish the Rapture happened more often...
