Boring, work-related entry below!

Don't say I didn't warn you . . .

This summer is going reasonably well. I really like my job, even when I don't have much to do . . . hehe, I was complaining to Tarang earlier today that there was nothing to be done. Then, about 30 minutes later, I was given a shitload of work to be completed by 11 am tomorrow--work that would take me about 2 full days to do . . . crunch time tomorrow! The one complaint that I have involves the idiocy of my co-interns. Just today, I had to explain to one the meaning of the word "deceive" (no, seriously), and to another, why a "random" mix of 20 of our friends was considered a biased sample (when used to represent Generation Y consumers with respect to the automotive industry). Sigh, but such is life. Oh, and I hate the commute. And the "business casual" dress code (I don't have anymore clothes to wear!).

The more I delve into doing real market research (as opposed to the NI crap), the more I enjoy it. It's so mentally taxing . . . but to tell the truth, time flies when I'm immersed in it the way I have been these past few days. I love marketing . . . or what I've experienced of it thus far. Let's see if this lasts more than a week.

One thing that I've found impossibly cool--there is this book called Good to Great that is kind of a Bible in the business world. It basically is the result of massive amounts of research into the exact factors that make a company successful. Our market research is basically centered around the methods described in the book. My boss knows the author in a business context, and emailed him about our project a few weeks ago. Today, we got a response congratulating us on our endeavor, and wanting the final draft of the article we will publish about our findings. I think it's pretty damn cool.

At any rate, this is the end. No, really, this is it. Stop reading. END.

I feel loopy.
