color conundrum; anyone have a ladder I can borrow?

I'm having some serious issues with the new wall color. I am very impulsive at times, and it's no surprise that I became a victim of "backwards decorating." I did sit and think about my chosen color for over 2 weeks, constantly looking over the swatches to make sure I made the right choice. The problem is that the color on my walls is just not what I had in mind when I chose it. That, and I really should have put more thought into the style of the house and how I could work with that. I live in a gorgeous 1920's craftsman era bungalow, with all the original moldings (crown, floorboard, window and door) and beautiful dark hardwoods throughout the house. I stopped off at the hardware store today and picked up dozens of swatches and books to find a color that will truly be perfect. *sigh*

This experience has gotten me re-interested in home décor. Now that I have started this project, I've been largely focused on other design elements within my room and this house. Guess I should have done that before painting my entire room. Well, the entire room except for about 3 inches at the top of the wall... neither of us girls could reach that high! If anyone has a ladder I can borrow to finish this project it would be much appreciated! I may even be able to kick down a couple beers.
