Thanks for the welcome! I haven't had much chance to play with it - from what I've seen and heard it's not much good for conversations, but I sure have found a lot of pretty pictures.

Do people form fannish communities there or is it "every one for him/herself?" I'm still working out how to navigate it.

Not per se, but if you tag your posts related to a specific fan grouping, such as: trek slash, kirk/spock
