my beholder entry & some recs
Seems I did miss something last week - the reveals for hp_beholder went up, so I can now reveal I wrote some truly smutty Hagrid/Aberforth and surprisingly sweet & sappy Snape/Hooch that included a smattering of Harry & Hagrid friendship, a few magical creatures, a brief look at the reconstruction of Hogwarts & a drop of h/c along w/the smut.

I'm still not done reading the beholder or the snarry-thon entries, so some late recs from those communities might trickle through the flist eventually.

ss/le: The Shooting Star by AntiCelestial. Short, sweet, ultra-angst alert.
ss, gen: Who Would Snape Choose? by Ms_Figg. Tidy little gem of a post-DH 'what-if?'
ss/hp: Deep in the Drowning Green by lomonaaeren. Fascinating, nice magical conjecture and sizzling hot smex.
ss/hg: Life For Rent by evenstar101. This fic badly needs a beta, but it remains a great immersive read, with a Severus that is mildly (and understandably) ooc.
ss/hg: Wouldn't Know What To Do by FanFicLove101. True smut w/a wonderfully virgin!Snape - rather filthy in parts, but a nice brief bit o' pr0n crumpet.
ss/hg: Regarding Severus Snape by angelicnight. An engaging tale including Polyjuice, an opinionated mirror, and insufferable Severus (and Hermione). :)
ss/nt: Falling Auror, Catching Spy. Ms Clumsy meets Mr Bitter and it's quite nice. :)
MUST-READ
ss/hg: The Princess of Gryffindor by the amazing aurette. This is a bloody-good read, angsty with plenty of h/c and smut. Note: this fic drags our characters through the depths of despair and depravity, so if you're a tender-hearted sort, you might not care for it, but it is well worth the read. This fic is now right next to Tyger, Tyger as my all-time favourite Snermione re-read. I give it two wands up. :)
ss/hg: Discretion by aries314. NOTE: underage (for some, Hermione being 17) and sticks to canon. My sole quibble with this fic is I prefer smuttier fare, but otherwise, it is a solidly written, ic, slow to build, and believable fic wherein Hermione gets together with the decidedly unbalanced Severus during his hellish year of the HBP.
