LOL! Truer words were never spoken!!! :D
But you love Ten
Oh, I do--very much, which is why I think this fate is so heartbreaking! But it makes sense to me as Ten left just teetering on the Timelord Victorious thing. I don't for a minute think this was totally exorcised from him, hence it comes out again, here. Ultimately, I wrote this stuff as if it could actually be a part of the series--that was one of the rules for myself, and part of this exercise of writing these. Arguably there might be some things that would never fly (e.g. The "death" scene of Twelve a few chapters ago might be a bit too much for "family" TV), but I've at least tried to answer the question for myself of, if Twelve was really cast as a female, what might have to happen in order for the audience to accept her? Keeping with this, if you bring Ten back, then what must happen with the arc of the character in order to keep it fresh? What might entice DT to pick it back up?
Also, the Valeyard, to me, MUST happen. Like you say, it's a kickass idea, one that must come back around soon if the show is going to deal with their own canon. In my mind, whoever is Twelve must deal with the Valeyard and whoever is Thirteen must figure out a way to extend the regenerative cycles--and all of this was set up a loooooong time ago. I think as fans, we need to see this since it's been promised to us for so many years. And to not do this would be a detriment to the history of the show, imo.
I'm so glad you're enjoying it, thanks so much for the comment!!
