Happy Easter
Long time since I updated. Things are starting to wrap up here and hopefully I'll be headed home soon. Yesterday was my scheduled demob date. Was. I've been extended until April 30th. Tony left towards the end of March leaving me as the acting Procurement Manager. Sounds impressive but basically I've been swamped since then. I have to close out all of our files and definitize any money left on the contracts. Yikes. I've only closed two subcontracts so far but I have done 11 purchase orders.
There's only four of us left here now ... and I'm the only girl. I've been getting dinner ready while all the guys go off and do their thing. Wow, it's like I stepped back into the 50s. Oh well. Alan prepared most of the food for dinner so I only have to cook it. I made some devilled eggs and cream puffs for dessert.
I'm ready to be done with this project and move on to the next. I can never move back to Baton Rouge though. It's time for me to move on to the next big adventure wherever that may lie. But not to worry, I'll be back to ol BR to visit frequently. After all, it's not everyday that your friend gets married and you're a bridesmaid. I'll be there for that definitely.
