I should learn be careful what you wish for

So work before Thanksgiving was pretty slow. Ok, really slow. But we have some projects that'll be kicking off soon and then there's the matter of meeting with a sub and telling him we're not paying the $3 million he thinks he's owed but instead maybe $100 K. So that'll be fun.

Anyway, got back from Thanksgiving and had a meeting with our manager. The set up here is very confusing. My manager is technically who I work for but I still have a boss. So in the meeting, he brings up the fact that we have an audit coming up in January. All of our files have to be ready for this audit. So he tells us to self audit our files so we don't get as many dings (points against us) and that he wants it all done before the holidays. So I have 42 files. And three weeks to get them done in. This is on top of the stuff that I was working on and that's even picked up since Thanksgiving. It's going to be a major stress time for me. Nothing like deadlines to keep you working. So I figured it all out and basically I have to do two files a day. I also have to work 12 hours a day and come in on weekends. Sucky. But the good thing is that we'll be done by the holidays and I'll be able to enjoy my time off without stress or worry or anything like that. I'll be able to relax.

I also feel better because I have 42 files and another guy here has 130. Ok, I need to get crackin'.
