Yeah, yeah, a week late in posting this but what the hell.....
Met up with my parents on Saturday lunch time and had a lovely afternoon - very mellow.
And now to the beers :
Type your cut contents here.
Bartrams Marld. 3.4% - very nice, gentle mild with a sparkly chocolate taste.
Chocolate Orange Stout, Cambridge Moonshine Brewery. 6.7% - very rich and scrummy, bit too rich really. Couldn't do more than a half of this one without feeling slightly nauseous I think.
Brewer's Droop, Bull Box Brewery. 4.5% - this was so nice I could have drank it forever. Gorgeous colour and smelt and tasted of caramel. Reminiscent of toffee apples. Absolutely beautiful beer!
Thin Ice, Elgoods. 4.7% - Burnt hops and caramel. Dark but tasted surprisingly light.
Jolabrugg, Earl Soham Brewery. 5.2% - light, blond, vaguely foreign.
Wonder of Woo, Son of Sids Brewery. 4.6% - wonderful name! Dark and fruityu with a sparkly aftertaste. Very nice!
Tasters:
Dark Ruby Mild, Sarah Hughes Brewery. 6.0% - gorgeous colour, rich yet delicate taste (is that possible?)
Oakham Oblivion. 5.7% - scarily drinkable pint!
Poachers Pocket, Church End Brewery. 3.5% - very light, almost blond. Gentle beer.
Strong Mild, Devil's Dyke Brewery. 5.0% - bit too heavy for me.
Black Dog, Elgoods Brewery. 3.6% - often see this as a session mild but compared to other beers here it was surprisingly boring.
Cider:
Hereward Brewery, Cambridgeshire Cider (medium dry). 6.0% - flowery and light.
and thus ends our run down of the 12th Cambridge Winter Ale Festival.
