the Light
the darkness had won over the years of the past
shimmers past me by day after day never lighting the path enough to see
finally a shimmer came and ignited the road ahead
small but powerful, the shimmer pulled me from the dark
all the shimmers around him were drawn to me, this frightened it
and over time I began to notice the light flickering in and out
scared, I prepared for the darkness only to be reassured that it would not take me ever again
the shimmer lied,
it burned out and the darkness came, washing over me once more
blocking the vision i had once attained
remembering bits of my surroundings, I attempted to venture forth
but I fell, tripping over the binds that connected me to the dead shimmer
the shimmers that surrounded the once existing light burned me without understanding what they were doing
I began severing those ties and now the darkness has taken me back
back to the world I once new
back to loneliness I cant escape
back to the darkness
