So the Ban on Affirmative Action passed in Michigan. Now I start to wonder about a few things.
1. The future of things in michigan
2. If I'm going to lose my Multicultral Advisor job because Minority programs can no longer exist
3. How much of a difference it is going to make in the state.
Some might argue that having no discrimination and everything "equal" will be a postive thing from the Ban, but I don't think at this time in the US it's ready for a ban. I fit in so many categories for AA that it not being around might have some impact on me.
I am:
1. Female
2. First College student in family
3. African American
4. Child from Single Parent Home
5. Student that wants to go to pursue Masters & Doctorate
6. Within lower middle class income
I am not complaing but I am mostly expressing how I feel and I'm thinking right now.
I have been sitting in my classes today just looking at one how many girls are in the class and how diverse it is. And just wondering how things are going to be next year, or months from now when new undergrad students come in. When I apply for other jobs or internships. A Ban has been passed but my question is how do you know it will go into effect, how do you know that everyone is going to abide by the rules and not just favor for Middle Class and Upper Class White Protesent/Christian/Catholic Heterosexual Males.
I am not againist Equality, I wish I could firmly know and believe that human nature could not be so judging but thats not our country. That is not how some people are.
Anarchy is true Freedom.
Communism is true Equality.
Democracy is the Balance.
Human nature corrupts each one of these. Too many are selfish and just self driven to worry about others. It's like an old saying goes. You can force a horse's head underwater but you can not make it drink. This is my exact feelings with the pre voting proposal information or with the constant diversity eduation. It's there you see the factor and get the knowledge of what right and whats wrong but some still see in sterotypes.
So guess it's a start over for Michigan. Might be good might be bad, we will see.

My hope for a better tomorrow is afflicted by problems of today.
