things have been crazy. everyone has left and i am all around the state visiting friends. i am going to miss everyone and feel like i am only seeing everyone slightly... but i am alive and i must say i am very thankful for that especially after the weekend i had. I went to the mountains to see some dear friends and we decide to go on a two-three day hike in the smokies.. we go with three irish folks whom i just met the day before and head out into the wilderness. about 15 miles in our irish friend paul dislocates his knee and we have to think fast. all of us work so well together and got his knee in place, made a brace from metal rods in the packs and some tape and ripped tshirts. two boys ran ahead to call for rangers, while jackie and i helped paul slowly walk down the mountain, with added weight from his bag. we hiked from 8am til 11pm in the dark with only 2 lights one of which was pauls headlamp. we stopped in the middle of the trail and hoped the ranger would come in the morning. the stars were amazing though. eventually the ranger came about 930 and we helped paul hike about a mile more till we could get proper help and have him carried down on a dohickey. so one on the dohickey and the three of us with about 12 rangers go down the mountain. there is a lot more and i can't really explain all of it now but i surely will never forget this trip or my new irish friends. i am so happy paul is okay and that we all worked so well together... it was like a play no one talked it just all worked out the way it should. so that is what i have been up to lately.
i am in the process of packing and hopefully seeing a few more friends. i hope all is well and know that i loves you. :)
