I realize the train to the netherworld don't stop in NJ BUT
How did I get myself stuck in DC? I miscalculated and missed my flight out of Boston to Cincy. I had to change booking (for a lovely $60 surcharge), and get routed through DC. Late for registration for conference and opening remarks. Had to rebook shuttle. Then my flight was delayed, then cancelled. Scratch that, all flights from DC to Cincinnati tonight are cancelled. No availability through other airports for the entire night. No other airline arrangements. Reason given? "Crew."
So, the people in front of me get the last flight leaving at 7 AM tomorrow, and I'm stuck with 11 AM, so I'll miss three panels and be a day late for registration (and miss tonight's meet and greet at the conference). Delta is putting me up at a hotel for the night and paying for some of my meals, but I had to reschedule with the hotel in Cincinnati, mail the conference people again, reschedule the shuttle again, and let my coworkers know about the delay. I'm currently off the highway with no metro access, and the TV says it has TBS but it doesn't appear to be actually showing the playoffs, which is confusing.
I'm pretty bummed about missing some of the conference, but there's nothing I can do. The stress has made me tired, though. Glar.
