Zoodapest, Part X. - The Love of Consumerism

Feb 06, 2008 12:42

Overnight, a series of Citylight posters appeared throughout town on behalf of the New Brands Union Campaign, urging people to write love poems to their favourite brands and products, and submit them to get free product samples.

The only thing I can think about to justify this is that behind this there's probably a secret group of men and women still having some self-consciousness left, who trace the submitters back to their homes by their addresses, and dispatch groups of ruthlessly efficient assassins to inject lethal doses of sulfuric acid into their veins when they sleep at night.

Consumerism is a very trendy and cool and exciting thing when you're standing in the middle, but when you trip over a fuck-up like this, you might realize that the joke's on you, and that there might be quite a lot of other people who'll be there and do the laughing.
