Dear O,

You dressed like you didn't belong, like you were going to a dinner party or a tea party only the only dress you could find was a adult size version of a child's dress.  And when I walked into the room I thought that maybe you might be someone who I could be close to, and then you opened your mouth.  Boy was I wrong.  And from then on, you only proved further that you were the epitome of an American stereotype.  You were unwilling to accept different cultures, you were opinionated, argumentative, you regarded yourself the center of the universe, and acted like a spoiled brat.

The more I saw of you, the less I ever wanted to be around you again.  And the saddest part was that you proved me wrong.  I originally thought you seemed like someone I could be around; and then the universe was like, let's fool Kiana into thinking this other American is actually someone she could get along with, and then slowly make Kiana realize that no, in fact let's make her the most repulsive human being Kiana will ever have the chance to meet.  Now, I'm exaggerating but before meeting you I honestly thought I couldn't hate anyone.  I can honestly say, congratulations I cannot stand the sight of you.

You don't even think about the words coming out of your mouth.  You have a serious case of verbal diarrhea and you should really see a doctor for that problem.  What you say is hurtful, and even offensive at times.  Not to mention for some crazy reason you romanticized Japan and when it didn't live up to your expectations or it did something you didn't agree with you would complain.

There were days where you wouldn't stop spewing garbage out of your mouth so I felt the need to say something to shut you up.  The best part was when I actually stood up to you.  Normally, I just go with the flow, but that evening/early morning you pissed me off.  You were insufferable, and you didn't listen to reason.  We went on the most asinine "adventure" I have ever been a part of, and when 5am rolled around and we still weren't hope I was fed up.  But no, you had to keep suggesting places to go, where we could walk to even if it was back in the same direction we came or take the train to that was five stops away, so I snapped.  I told you that you could go if you wanted but fuck if I was going to go with you.  And you threw what could only be called a hissy fit.  And despite being pissed off at you, I couldn't help but be amused by the fact that you were so childish.

But still for some reason you were under the impression that I liked you.  Of course, I wasn't particularly hostile to you, so of course you would think that I wanted to spend time with you.  But you really were insufferable, and I can only hope that as time continues to go on you grow up.  That's my only wish, for my sanity and the sanity of the rest of the human race.  I'm so glad that the farthest I ever traveled with you was to Kamakura and Disney Land (both of which are about an hour and a half away from where we lived), because I'm fairly certain I would have murdered you by the end, or maybe not even by the end but when you said something ridiculous and offensive.

Here's hoping we never meet again, but if we do that you've realized what an awful human being you were before and have since changed your ways.

All the best, Kiana

(Note: This is bitchy, and really I am exaggerating, but not by much.  She really is irritating, but I don't think she's a terribly awful human being, just annoying, ridiculous, and unaware.  Oh and sheltered.  So I really do hope that she grows up, and if she does I'm fairly sure she'd be tolerable.)L
