Black Eagle - Chapter 01

Jun 11, 2011 22:36

Black Eagle crashed through the third story window and lands with a roll. Quickly she takes note of the location of all three gang members. From her utility belt she draws three Stun Talons and with amazing speed throws one at each of them. As each Talon strikes its target they unleash an electrical discharge, dropping each person to the ground.

The apartment is filthy with empty beer bottles and pizza boxes on just about every flat surface. In one corner is a small kitchenette with a stove, a couple cabinets and a sink. Three doors are the only exits from the main room; one leads to the hallway, one to the bathroom and the third is the one Black Eagle is looking for. It's locked and obviously re-enforced with steel. She kneels down before the door and examines the lock. After a moment of observation she takes a set of lock picks from her utility belt and begins working the lock. Within a minute she has the door unlocked.

She opens the door, which leads to a bedroom. Lying on the bed is the missing college student she is searching for. His hands are tied behind his back, his feet are tied together and a rope ties his feet to his hands. His mouth is gagged. His eyes are closed, but his chest is rising and falling slowly. Reassured he's alive; she heads out into the main room and handcuffs the gang members before returning to the bedroom.

From her utility belt she takes out a blade and makes short work of the ropes tying his hands and feet. She removes the gag. Her hand goes back to her belt and grabs a vial of smelling salts. She opens them under his nose and his eyes snap open. His wide eyes dart around the room.

"Are you injured, Charles Sullivan?" asks Black Eagle.

Weakly Charles croaks out, "N-no."

She takes a small flask off her utility belt, removes the top and helps the young man drink some water. "I've subdued your captors, but we should be going before any of their compatriots arrive."

Black Eagle helps Charles to his feet, out into the main room and both pause at the door leading to the hallway. She listens at the door for a moment and hearing no one on the other side, she opens the door. Out into the hallway and quickly down the stairs to the ground floor. She stops at the door leading outside and listens. Again hearing no one she moves out into the street with Charles following after her.

"Can you make it to the police station?"

"Yes."

"Go and let them know where they can find your kidnappers."

With that she draws her grapple pistol, fires a line at a nearby roof top ledge and swings off into the night. Moving from roof top to roof top she follows the young man until he arrives at the police station. Once she sees him head in, she heads off to find more crime to stop.

Here are two takes on the characters costume, not sure which I like better:

If you read it, just let me know what you think through some means. Thanks.
