No longer a summer bum with no job!! Job has been secured, and BONUS~~~~ I get to speak Mandarin and eat lots of free food!
Finished my second day at Jiou Yuan Bistro in downtown Pleasanton HAHAHAHA! Am gleeful! Am earning money!! Am getting to practice my poor people skills! Yes why so good!! People TIP!! Haaa I like the feel of money earned by yours truly <3
I like all my coworkers too~~ Lots of them are Taiwanese, so their Chinese is all lispy HAHAHAHAAAA!! I can understand them for the most part though... except for Andy. Andy is my eternally grumpy Yunnan-ian Chinese but Vietnamese born (gay/straight???) supervisor. He learned Cantonese and Mandarin while he was a waiter, so his Chinese is kind of fucked up.
Mmm food: I only get to try the extra stuff during work, but breakfast/dinner is free and prepared for us before we start work!! Yuuuumm... I've had soup noodles, pig leg, spicy glass noodles, pickled veggies, corn soup, pork fried rice, crab butterfly, dumplings, aaand... that's it. The chef looks like the turnip spirit from Spirited Away, HAHAHAHA!!
