Ok. I've decided on the first two modifications I'm gonna make to my car. Forget neon lights and body kits. Those are for ricers. I want performance mods.

First is a Cold Air Intake -- $180

I plan to get this when I get my paycheck next Friday.

MAC Cold Air Intake for 1999-2004 V6 Mustangs

MAC Performance has rated this cold air intake system to add 9.4 HP to the rear wheels! This product is a complete Cold Air Induction Fenderwell System. MAC Performance is dedicated to building products that meet strict quality standards and is the industry leader in cold air induction systems.

Then, in about 3-5 weeks, after a couple more paychecks, I hope to get a new underdrive pulley and tuner -- $500

Your Choice of Computer Tuners:
DIABLOSPORT PREDATOR Flash Tuner

SCT STRATEGY Flash Tuner

Featuring:

MOTOBLUE™ H.O. Water Pump Pulley
MOTOBLUE™ H.O. Power Balancer Pulley Kit
GOODYEAR GatorBack Belt
Adds up to 30+ RWHP

Total RWHP gained: 40+ Which should put me at the same amount or more as a 1999-2004 Mustang GT!

RWHP stands for rear-wheel horspower. It's the amount of HP that actually makes it to the wheels, or in other words, the amount of HP that causes your car to move. You see, if a car is advertised as 150 HP, for example, that doesn't mean that you have 150 horses powering your car. Some of the HP is spent on other things, like running your stereo, air conditioner, water pump, power steering, etc., and that never makes it to the wheels to power your car. For example, you could have 150 HP total, but only 100 HP pushing your car forward, because that's all that makes it to the wheels.

So, this is what under my hood should look like:
