I guess I did it. Harvey graduated. It's nice to get a reminder that this place isn't a total waste of time after all. And then I get lucky for once, the Admiral giving me that break when he did. It looks like I missed some pretty bad stuff happening here. Another riot? But hey, that's the glory of the Barge, right? Never know what shitstorm to ( Read more... )

welcome to the successful wardens club, riot wat?, (just jack)

Congratulations on your Inmate. I don't think I've ever seen you around? How long were you gone for?

Thanks. Yeah, I don't know, maybe a week or two. I think I saw you around before that, but I don't think we ever talked. I'm Jack.

Wichita.

Glad you missed the flood. It was a clusterfuck.

That was the impression I got. So what happened in this one? Everyone got turned into their evil twin or something?

Sort of. The function of the Barge was actually the biggest issue. Instead of reforming inmates, it was meant to make them worse. Most wardens definitely had an evil twin vibe going on, and the inmates became pretty harmless.

Where you from?

From everything I've heard, I'm definitely glad I got to sit this one out.

America. You?

Zombieland.

It's about as pleasant as it sounds.

Sorry.

So, you're a warden, right?

Sorry? Don't be. Bets aren't off on you coming from somewhere worse. America's a pretty broad generalization.

Yeah. Got myself a teenager with an attitude problem, so I'm thankful. You get a new assignment yet?

Maybe, but it's still just plain old America. I pretty much came from an office job.

Better than some you could have. Nope, I'm looking after myself until the next sorting.

The Admiral offered a guy with an office job to come hang out? That's -- you know... the most normal thing I've heard. Are you sure your world's not rife with robot alien overlords or something?

What year?

psychosnowflake January 19 2010, 05:56:02 UTC
No robots. I'm pretty sure I would've noticed. It was 1996.

So, assuming Zombieland isn't some other planet, what year was it when you picked up this shit job?

wichita_kansas January 19 2010, 06:00:12 UTC
Well, people forget to mention what's normal for them. America, on Earth? Bill Clinton? What state?

The United States of Zombieland. I'm from 2009. If we're from the same Earth, it's not a lot different from 1996.

Oh no, I understand. One of the charms of this place, huh? But yeah, Earth, yep, Bill Clinton, and Delaware, mostly.

Another assumption here, but that's apart from the zombies, right?
